MUCORMICOSE RINO-ORBITO-CEREBRAL EM PACIENTE METABOLICAMENTE DESCOMPENSADO

A mucormicose é uma infecção rara causada por fungos Zygomycetes, que se desenvolvem com maior frequência em pacientes imunocomprometidos e diabéticos descompensados. Sua alta morbidade é justificada por ser uma infecção angioinvasiva, que causa trombose e necrose dos tecidos. O relato apresenta quadro clínico de um paciente diabético, masculino, 46 anos, encaminhado a um hospital devido à hipótese de celulite odontogênica, que foi diagnosticado com mucormicose rino-orbito-cerebral. Foi administrada Anfotericina B e o paciente submetido desbridamentos cirúrgicos. O paciente evoluiu com lesão isquêmica aguda cerebelar direita e do troco cerebral ipsilateral, sendo elegível aos cuidados paliativos, seguido por óbito.
