Abstract

Introduction: The monitoring activity in the practical Microbiology classes of the medicine course at Faculdades Pequeno Príncipe provides to the monitors several opportunities at a student level through an integrated collaboration with the professors. Objective: Report the monitoring work experience with clinical cases applied to microbiology. Methods: Descriptive and qualitative study, referring to the monitoring period in Microbiology of the medicine course. Based on the topics studied, the monitor built a material aimed at increasing the students' interest as: discussion of contextualized clinical cases during the theoretical-practical classes taught by the guiding teacher. Results: The student participation was successful, it was possible to observe the ability to apply the theoretical content in hypothetical clinical cases created. Conclusion: It is possible to understand that monitoring is an experience of great value, allowing the student-monitor to have contact with teaching and academic interventions with active methodologies that help in the training of other students.
