Abstract

Food allergy is an adverse health effect resulting from an abnormal immune response after eating a specific food. In this context, this research is a quantitative and retrospective epidemiological analysis with the objective of identifying the profile of patients with food allergy treated at the Allergy and Clinical Immunology outpatient clinic of the Professor Alberto Antunes University Hospital. Of the 589 medical records registered, 254 patients were included, which presented a prevalence of 55.51% for females and a mean age of 20.16 years. Seafood, milk, eggs, fruits, dyes and grains were recorded as predominant allergens.
