Introduction: The clinical manifestations of COVID-19 are varied in general population. In pregnant women, knowledge about the clinical presentation profile is still limited. Gestational physiological changes associated with Covid-19 could be a source of worse prognosis. The present study thus aimed to systematize the current literature regarding to clinical and epidemiological profile of pregnant women with COVID-19. Methods: The research was developed according to recommendations provided in PRISMA protocol. Studies were selected from PubMed / Medline and Scopus databases between January 1 and April 24, 2020, using two search strategies: the descriptors COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, 2019-nCoV, n- CoV and coronavirus associated with “clinical profile” and “epidemiology”; later, the terms “gynecology and obstetrics”, “reproduction” and “pregnancy” were added to the previous descriptors. Results: Fever was the main symptom with frequency ranging between 17,39 and 85,71%. Diabetes mellitus appeared as the principal pregnancy complication which prevalence ranged between 7,76 and 14,29%. Cesarean delivery was necessary in 69,19% of pregnancies. Fetal deaths and neonatal asphyxia were not identified. However, preterm delivery was reported frequently.
Conclusion: The clinical picture of pregnant patients did not significantly differ from non-pregnant patients. Premature birth was highlighted as a possible consequence of Covid-19 infection. Universal testing for pregnant women admitted to childbirth allows the adoption of early care to avoid fetal contamination
