a ação do Governo Federal brasileiro

Authors

Abstract

This article analyse what were the economic measures that the Brazilian Government adopted in the most serious period of the Coronavirus pandemic, between mid-2020 and January 2022. The first measure recommended by health authorities around the world was the social isolation, which ended up generating several negative impacts on the world economy. Despite the Federal Government minimizing the impact of COVID on the health of the population, the negative effects of the pandemic also reached the national territory. According to the official website of the Federal Government, approximately 230 government actions related to the pandemic situation were carried out, 127 of which were linked to the Ministry of Economy. Actions related to the budget, the granting of credit, income transfer and fiscal policies are highlighted. One conclusion is that regardless of the will of our rulers, the Brazilian public administration has mechanisms to achieve a balance in the management of the State and to carry out the will of the people. Another conclusion is that the actions taken by the Federal Government were timid and ill-conceived.
