Abstract

Libraries are important centers for safeguarding written and digital memory in areas of knowledge, so they require attention in the preservation and conservation of their materials/collections. Therefore, carrying out studies of probability and anticipation of problems (risks), entails conditions for the preservation of these bibliographic collections. Considering the review of published materials, the objective is to deal with the bibliographic behavior of the records indexed in the Information Science Database, on the topic of planning and risk management in libraries. Therefore, the present study is of a basic nature, with an approach under the bias of qualitative research, and as for the objective, exploratory research, from the point of view of technical procedures, it refers to a bibliographic survey, which comprises the period from 2001 to 2021, recovering fourteen results. Thus, through the description of the data and analysis of the retrieved articles, it allowed the representation and reflection of the knowledge obtained. It was also observed that planning is a continuous, permanent and dynamic process, and that it must be incorporated into the institution's daily life, associated with risk management, in order to coordinate and establish priorities for action, minimizing document losses.
