The bakhtinian contribution to the indexing of aesthetic-literary works

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to consider how the conceptions of Mikhail Bakhtin's philosophy of language, especially the discourse genre and dialogism, can contribute to the indexing of aesthetic-literary works. The exposition of this philosopher's conceptions leads to the understanding that the aesthetic-literary work, as well as the scientific one, is a genre, therefore it has elements that need to be considered in the documentary reading for purposes of representation. Based on dialogism, an aspect inherent to the utterance, he proposes dialogic indexing as a way of identifying and even selecting subjects to represent such works, thus proposing another way of thinking, and practicing indexing. The methodology has an exploratory and descriptive character with a qualitative approach, carried out in the form of a bibliographical and documentary research. It considers that any aesthetic work is a concrete statement, and, in order to be read, interpreted and analyzed, the elements that constitute it and the dialogue that it establishes with other texts must be considered.
