Abstract

Currículo Lattes is a database managed by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) for recording academic-scientific and technological production in Brazil. The instrument is essential for recording researchers' activities and fulfills its purpose, but like any application with a long life cycle, there are improvements that can be made to optimize the retrieval of information registered in this database. The present study is a documentary and applied research, with a qualitative approach, which has the general objective of presenting a proposal to optimize the retrieval of information within the scope of academic production registered in the Lattes Curriculum. For this purpose, three methodological stages were carried out: (i) initial diagnosis with a brief characterization and description of the Lattes Curriculum; (ii) identification of retrieval elements to be optimized within the scope of academic production and (iii) creation of a prototype mirrored in the platform, presenting suggestions for improvements for information retrieval. The results presented make it possible for data and information about academic production to be retrieved more quickly and in a more personalized way by users, impacting the visualization of information, facilitating and optimizing the retrieval of information by researchers and users of the Lattes Curriculum. It was concluded that this optimization proposal, based mainly on the principles of organization and information retrieval, in the context of Information Science, can enhance the service, presenting the information in a personalized and objective way. It is hoped that the proposal will be a useful tool for the Brazilian scientific community and that it will inspire new versions of the Lattes Curriculum.
