Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, pregnant women were greatly affected, from behavioral to psychological aspects, in view of the uncertainties that permeate the context of the new disease.  Objective: to analyze the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women about COVID-19.  Methods: an observational, analytical and cross-sectional study was conducted, with a sample of pregnant women (n= 70), registered in the Primary Health Care of Parnaíba-PI. Data collection was extended from April to October 2021, based on a questionnaire composed of three main parts: information on sociodemographic characteristics, obstetric /medical history and knowledge of  the ATTITUDE of COVID-19.  The statistical analysis was descriptive by reading the absolute (N) and relative (%) frequencies, using the chi-square and binomial tests to test the hypothesis of association between the levels of knowledge and attitude of pregnant women with sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics, adopting a  significance level of 5%, P-0.05.  Results: Only a significant association was detected between the variables attitude and marital status, with single women having a higher rate of negative attitude towards COVID-19. Conclusion: Although most study participants have adequate knowledge and positive attitude about COVID-19, they are concerned about their health and their babies
