Abstract

Introduction: This study describes processes of fostering health promotion actions in the context of a social mobilization in a Family Health Unit (FHU) of a large city in the interior of the State of São Paulo.  Objective: To foster the development of health promotion actions, counting on the protagonism of the community, in the territory of a FHU of a large municipality in the interior of the State of São Paulo. Methods: Intervention research was carried out, with qualitative methodology, in the modality of the participant research. Results: The recognition of knowledge and experiences of this community about health problems based on the territory led to support in the environmental recovery of an abandoned green area adjacent to the FHU. Conclusions: Even in the presence of a pandemic or perhaps consequent to it, with enormous aggravations and weakening of the population and health services, the popular organization revealed itself as a possibility of developing actions to improve the territory and facilitate intersubjective relationships.
