Museu da pessoa and its redemption in global times: dialogue between Walter Benjamin and poet Manoel de Barros

Abstract

the article reflects the authenticity of the Museu da Pessoa (1991), which is understood in the paradox: cultural space through the sharing of life experiences (Erfahrung) and its fetishized constitution by virtual media. In this ontological tension, we adopt a possible dialogue between Walter Benjamin and the poet Manoel de Barros, through the deviation method, to find the formative legitimacy of the Museu da Pessoa. From Benjamin's perspective, we identify in the work O collector bases for the redemption of the manufactured from its means of production, and in the book Sobre nada by Manoel de Barros we find the poetic release of the original functionality of things so that the “aura” of the work of art seal the Museum of the Person. Finally, the justification for the aesthetic confluence between the authors points to a new category of analysis on the Museum of the Person: understanding it as a space of resistance for collective memory, which still persists in telling us that we are human.
