Abstract

In order to understand the business models of the digital platform type and the use of ontologies for the organization of information and knowledge generated in these businesses, a Systematic Literature Review was carried out, highlighting research opportunities based on structured approaches for these models. As a main objective, we sought to present an initial proposal, based on a pilot project and application in three other use cases, of ontology in a business model of the digital platform type for obtaining, organizing and sharing of the data and information generated through its processes, allowing to identify patterns in these business models. This research is considered as applied, qualitative, explanatory and multiple case study. The Ontology Development Methodology 101 was used to obtain the generic preliminary model. The results demonstrate the applicability of the proposed ontology as a structure capable of better representing knowledge in the chosen domain, allowing the development of a preliminary conceptual framework that establishes the relationship between different types of data in business models of the digital platform type with the possibility of permeating by different systems promoting interoperability.
