Abstract

Introduction: Through the Health Diagnosis of the Center Unit's Family Health Team (eSF, in Portuguese) in 2022, the loss of connection between patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families and the institution was identified as a priority problem. Therefore, an intervention project was created to build experiences of welcoming and dialogue between professionals and users of the eSF. Methods: This is an Experience Report related to a Permanent Education project through Conversation Circles (RC, in Portuguese) and citizen participation. The subjects of the intervention were eSF professionals and the families of children diagnosed with ASD; the implementation site was the Center Unit. Results: Interventions were based on the needs of the group, and content was divided into eight fortnightly meetings with an average of 15 participants. The participation of families in the RCs promoted open and democratic dialogue between participants and collective construction to respect and meet the needs of the health service, its professionals, and users. Conclusions: The project has shown that with few resources it is possible to develop solution-oriented interventions focused on the needs of eSF and families of children with ASD. It shows a new way in generating care in this community and serves as an example of humanized and inclusive care. This text is the result of the Professional Master's Degree in Family Health (PROFSAÚDE) stricto sensu postgraduate program.
