Abstract

Phytopathogens interfere negatively in the production and final quality of agricultural products sold. Therefore, the work has as purpose verifies the alternative control of fungus Cercospora beticola sacc, Phytophthora infestans e Colletotrichum lindemuthianum, using the doses 0,2; 0,4; 0,6; 0,8 µL mL-1 of guaçatonga essential oil (GEO), comparing testify with only water. It evaluated in vitro the potencial to GEO from comparing as mycelial growth rate (MGR), and in vivo the severity of cercospora in beet plants, also it determined the potencial of GEO on induces the resistance mechanism. It examined the peroxidase enzyme activity. This way, it packaged the oils in petri dishes to experiment in vitro and to in vivo it sprayed weekly the oil on packaged plants in vegetation house. It was determined the straight effect from oil on fungus and the cercospora control on the beet leaves and the peroxidase enzyme activity. It was verified that the essential oil did not present straight effect on the C. beticola in vitro, however it did on the others two fungus those achivied decrease on about the MGR, that activated simultaneously mechanism of defense on beet plants. Therefore, we can cite that the GEO presents the ability to act straight on the pathogens Phytophthora infestans, Colletotrichum lindemuthianum and induce the resistance of beet plants against Cercospora beticola.
