CLINICAL REASONING AND THE NURSE'S WORK IN RECEPTION WITH RISK CLASSIFICATION: AN EXPERIENCE REPORT

Abstract

Emergency Care Units (UPAs) offer medium-complexity health care, with high patient turnover, and risk-classified reception is a fundamental process in such a service, which enables quick and priority care, according to the severity of the condition. patient. Risk classification is an activity exclusive to nurses who must be trained and have skills to promote qualified listening, evaluate and classify correctly. In this way, clinical reasoning is characterized as an essential skill for the effectiveness and continuity of care. The objective of the research is to report the experience of nursing students on the reception process with risk classification, highlighting the importance of the nurse's clinical reasoning, in an emergency care unit in the city of Arapiraca-AL. The study is an experience report, based on experiences carried out by nursing students, in an emergency care unit in the city of Arapiraca - Alagoas. It was possible to verify through monitoring these professionals in their work process that clinical reasoning is present and important for the correct assessment and adequate risk classification. Furthermore, clinical reasoning must be present in all stages of the process of attributing diagnoses, planning and nursing intervention, and its correct conduct directly influences the quality levels of care provided to the patient. Finally, the development of clinical reasoning in the nurse's role in welcoming with risk classification is extremely important, given the complexity of work in this environment, where quick and accurate decisions are essential.
