Abstract

Digital platforms, and especially messaging applications, and the dynamics of network communication impact the way knowledge is shared in organizations and companies. In these environments, knowledge flows follow a new organizational logic, less hierarchical, spontaneously, not following top-down guidelines. Such dynamics raise questions regarding knowledge management, content control, privacy and the very characteristics of media technologies. This article brings reflections on such questions from the Deleuzian-Guattarian rhizome concept, considering that the rhizomatic dynamics would be linked to the idea of multiplicity, heterogeneity, connections, openness and alliances. Through articulations between the principles of the rhizome and knowledge management, it is expected to contribute to the theoretical discussions about knowledge sharing in a network and its management in the organizational scope. In addition to thinking about some possible modulations in knowledge management practices, other issues were pointed out that, due to their relevance, should be kept as milestones to be observed in the process, as future movements in other studies.
