Reflections concerning scientific production with the theme mediation in museums

The mediation of information has been widely discussed in Information Science, especially in the environment of Museums. On the other hand, the reflections in the museal scope need further deepening. In this context, this study analyzes the scientific production on information mediation in archives indexed in the Information Science Database. It aims to identify the articles, authors, institutional affiliation of the same, year of publication and most productive authors. The methodology used is based on bibliometric analysis, as well as the quantification of bibliographic/documentary information. The research results reveal that despite the growth of discussions on information mediation in recent years, there is still a shortage of publications that address mediation in museums more effectively, that is, there is a need for further reflection and deepening on the subject in focus. of this work. As a suggestion for future work, applied research is proposed, aiming to develop a model based on Knowledge Management in Lean Production Systems.
