The socio-environmental responsibility linked to organizations has gained considerable prominence in recent years. In this way, analyzing sustainability in the context of productive activities, in the region benefiting from the Canal do Sertão in Alagoas, is necessary to evaluate the impact of this project on the lives of the sertanejos. Therefore, this work aims to analyze some actions developed by small and medium-sized producers who have properties on the banks of the Canal do Sertão.
Observations were carried out on site in order to identify the main existing problems and carry out surveys regarding the sustainability involved. A production unit was chosen to use the Organizational Sustainability Indicator Analysis Method (MAIS).
It was found that some producers are able to develop their activities sustainably, as analyzed in the study carried out with a production unit on the banks of the canal in the municipality of Água Branca-ALAGOAS/BRAZIL.
The result of the *MAIS* tool showed that it is on the path to sustainability in the social dimension, being considered sustainable in the environmental and economic dimensions.
