Deadline for submission of articles is 05/26/2025.
The understanding of the writing processes in the classroom context is fundamental for the teaching and learning of the written language, highlighting the importance of dialogue between the actors involved. This theme explores how students and teachers interact during situations of collaborative textual production, illuminating verbal aspects related to the school manuscript under construction.
The articles can address the three axes indicated below or some other theme related to this proposal.
Axis 1: Historical perspective of studies on collaborative writing in the classroom: metalinguistic activity in focus
This axis examines the historical evolution of research on collaborative writing in the school environment, with an emphasis on metalinguistic activity. It analyzes how, over time, studies have addressed the
verbalization of different textual objects and the multiple layers of the writing processes by students.
Axis 2: Metalinguistic activity of students in collaborative writing processes: recent approaches
In this axis, contemporary approaches to the metalinguistic activity of students during collaborative textual production are explored. It investigates how students express comments about their own writing, offering valuable insights into their linguistic knowledge, metalinguistic awareness, and strategies for solving textual problems. These activities are crucial to understand the development of the capacity for self-
evaluation and self-regulation in writing.
Axis 3: Role of the teacher in collaborative textual production: interactions and relations with metalinguistic activity
This axis focuses on the role of the teacher during the collaborative writing process, examining how their interventions and orientations relate to the metalinguistic activity of the students. It analyzes how teacher monitoring influences the sharing of ideas and the revision of linguistic aspects by students during the linearization of the text.
Collaborative textual production offers a rich opportunity to investigate how the speeches of the scribes and the teacher interfere in the manuscript under construction. This thematic issue aims not only to expand academic knowledge about collaborative production in a school context, but also to provide interpretations that can optimize the processes of teaching and learning writing.
We invite papers that discuss empirical research, different methodological approaches, and theoretical analyses that contribute to a broader and deeper understanding of these phenomena in the educational field, considering the three proposed axes or other aspects aligned with the theme of this thematic
issue.
Papers can be submitted in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese.
