This article aims to make a discursive analysis of a post made on the personal profile of President Jair Bolsonaro, on 11/10/2020, on the social network Facebook, about the suspension of tests of the Coronavac vaccine by Anvisa at the time. We adopted the foundations of Michel Pêcheux's (DA) French discourse analysis. Thus, we will identify effects of meaning, silencing, Subject and the ideological (IF) and discursive (DF) formation to which this discourse is affiliated. We chose, as a device of analysis, the thesis of hubris syndrome (arrogance syndrome) defended by Owen (2008), which postulates that it can be developed by individuals who occupy spaces of power. According to this researcher, subjects affected by this syndrome present a pattern of behavior that detaches them from reality and that leaves linguistic clues in their sayings. In the materiality analyzed, we find some of these clues pointed out by Owen. Our conclusion demonstrates that this discourse is predominantly inscribed in a political-religious DF because, at the same time that the discursive subject establishes a political arena with an adversary, he exalts himself as a messianic and victorious being. This DF is inscribed in the IF of capital, whose inequality and competition constitute the pinnacles of social support for the current mode of production.
