This article deals with the relationship between the Brazilian press and the construction of the 2016 impeachment process. Our object of study is the reports on the June 2013 protests by Veja magazine. We have like objective to show how the analyzed magazine inaugurates in the popular imagination a relationship between the demonstrations and the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff. Our theoretical framework is the studies by Bakhtin / Volochinov (1999); Pêcheux (1990, 1999, 2009, 2011, 2013); Orlandi (1983, 1993, 1996, 2001, 2005, 2011), Bobbio (2011); Courtine (2006,2009), among others. The analysis did not allow us to realize that the discourse by Veja magazine reports is partial, relating dissatisfaction with the PT government to the protests that occurred in June 2013, contributing to foster a popular climate for impeachment, through a political coup in 2016.
