This article, considering the Borgesian metaphor of the library as the universe, carries out an essayistic discussion about the importance of literature in the life of the reader, its experience and its meaning in teaching, in the light of literary reflections by Umberto Eco, Italo Calvino, Harold Bloom, Tzvetan Todorov and philosophical positions of Giorgio Agamben. The central object of our reflections is to analyze the teaching of literature in the context of the orientation of the Supervised Internship with students of the Language and Literature course, thought from the perspective of the construction of a bibliographic collection to support the formation and promotion of self-knowledge in a wider dimension, as a paradigmatic suggestion for teaching and through the literary text.
