Chapada Diamantina National Park (PNCD) is one of the main nature based tourism destinations in Brazil. This activity, as it is strongly based on outdoor practices, it implies a series of risks to its supporters, demanding the creation of a health care network in the municipalities where it is practiced. The PNCD is located in the State of Bahia, and is delimited by the municipalities of Lençóis, Palmeiras, Mucugê, Ibicoara, Andaraí and Itaetê. By means of bibliographic, documentary and survey research, this article seeks to analyze the composition of the existing health structure around the PNCD and its capacity to meet the main events related to the visit to the space. The data obtained indicate the heterogeneity of the reality of the studied municipalities that suffer from the lack of specific protocols and the existence of an integrated security system for visitors
