Abstract

Students who begin their studies in tourism are faced with the need to understand the mean of tourism. Many of them have a limited understand of it, which is based on a common sense. With the proposal to help these students a research based on the main doubts of beginners students was made. Over six years of teaching practice in initial curricular components of courses (higher and technical) offered on a federal educational institution located in Brazil, the main doubts asked by students were compiled and based on these questions, a bibliographical research was carried out seeking to answer their doubts. It was noted that aspects such as mobilities, new relations established between work and travel, temporality, among other aspects, have made the understand of tourism more complex, which requires students to develop a critical sense.
