Abstract

This work, with a qualitative approach, aims to reflect on the reading habit of students in the Literature course at Uneal Campus-V. proficient readers? What do these students read? How often do they read? Is reading considered important for these students in academic training? More specifically, what is the reading habit of undergraduate students of the Letters course at Uneal Campus V? To answer the questions it was necessary to apply a questionnaire to a total of 30 students enrolled in the Literature course, as well as resorting to researchers who address the theme of reading. We believe that reading permeates the student's entire academic life and constitutes a useful tool for the formation of the critical and reflective subject. From this perspective, it is through reading that the student has access to the most diverse knowledge acquired by society, making it an essential activity for academic training. The survey revealed that although students recognize reading as an activity of great importance in academia, a significant portion of students do not keep reading as a daily habit.
