Abstract

This review focuses on the critical analysis of the book Chapters of Intellectual History. Racisms, identities and alterities in the reflection on Brazil, by the historian and researcher from Paraná Alberto Luiz Schneider. It seeks to rescue the historical and historiographical debate that the author proposes about the figure of the intellectual in the history of Brazil, his role in the construction of the idea of ​​nation and the importance of the racial issue in the intellectual debate between the end of the 20th century and the first half of the 20th century past.
