A língua e suas falhas: o discurso na contemporaneidade

Abstract

This paper discusses the concepts of contemporaneity, human subject and language. Following the discussion of these three concepts, which entails the study of the methodology of Discourse Analysis and of language flaws, three aspects of these theoretical categories are examined: the consumable evanescence of contemporary discourses, the ambivalence individual/State in the contemporary subject and the equivocal in languages. Besides that, the discourse analysts also focus on discourses about (body) nakedness, forms of foul language about clothing considered inappropriate, beauty masks, the macho man ways of addressing sex, the medical doctor ways of addressing sex and the contemporary language about desire and the elusiveness of meaning.
