Cicatrizes urbanas: a violência através da lente do detetive ficcional

Abstract

The development of urban centers and their unavoidable, increasingly chaotic, crowd of all sorts of workers, bourgeoisie and inhabitants, led to the development of a threat that was growing together with the cities: urban violence. Growing fast, such a thread leads the dominant powers to create a new method of social controland moralization: the marginalization of the “good bandit” and the maintenance of the social order by means of the figure of the detective and his/her analytical crime investigation. Thus, the analytical targets in this article will be the way this investigator was fictionalized, his/her ideological representations and the critique about them, having violence manifestations as the background.
